Brandon Graham Activated Off Injured Reserve Ahead of Super Bowl LIX

The Eagles activate Brandon Graham ahead of Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs. The veteran defensive end is expected to play despite recovering from a triceps injury.

The Philadelphia Eagles have activated defensive end Brandon Graham from injured reserve just in time for their Super Bowl LIX matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Graham tore his triceps during the Eagles’ 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 24 and was placed on IR. Before his injury, he played in 11 regular-season games, starting one. He recorded 3.5 sacks, 20 tackles, and seven quarterback hits.

On Jan. 30, the Eagles announced that Graham’s practice window had opened, making it possible for him to play in his third Super Bowl.

The Eagles’ final practice report listed Graham as a full participant. While he is officially questionable for Sunday’s game, signs suggest he will be active.

The 36-year-old has spent his entire 15-year career with Philadelphia. He has totaled 76.5 sacks, 487 tackles, and 153 quarterback hits since being drafted 13th overall by the Eagles in 2010.

Graham is best remembered for his game-changing strip-sack of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII, helping secure a 41-33 victory.

Sunday’s game could be his last in the NFL. Last July, Graham mentioned that he planned for 2024 to be his final season, though it is unclear if his recent injury will impact that decision.

No matter what happens next, Graham will always be a Philadelphia legend, known for both his outstanding performance and determination.
