Alcaraz and de Minaur to Face Off in ABN Amro Open Final

ABN Amro Open Final Set: Alcaraz vs. de Minaur

Top seed Carlos Alcaraz and No. 3 seed Alex de Minaur will battle for the ABN Amro Open title on Sunday after winning their semifinal matches in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

World No. 3 Alcaraz had to work hard to defeat No. 8 seed Hubert Hurkacz, winning 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3 to reach his first indoor final. He faced triple break point early in the match but recovered and won five straight games to take the first set. After losing the second set in a tiebreak, he dominated the start of the third and secured the victory in two hours, 21 minutes.

Alcaraz hit 39 winners and 32 unforced errors, while Hurkacz recorded 33 winners and 31 unforced errors. Hurkacz had 10 aces to Alcaraz’s five, but the Spaniard still found a way to win.

World No. 8 de Minaur had a much easier time, cruising past Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci 6-1, 6-2 in just one hour, seven minutes. De Minaur broke Bellucci twice in each set and converted all four break points he faced. Bellucci was playing in his first ATP semifinal after upsetting No. 2 seed Daniil Medvedev and No. 6 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Dallas Open Final: Ruud vs. Shapovalov

At the Dallas Open, No. 2 seed Casper Ruud will face unseeded Denis Shapovalov in the final after both won their semifinal matches on Saturday.

World No. 5 Ruud edged out Jaume Munar 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (4) in a tight three-set match. Munar had a chance to serve for the match at 5-4 in the final set, but Ruud broke back and eventually won in a tiebreak.

Shapovalov, meanwhile, defeated No. 3 seed Tommy Paul 7-5, 6-3. He sealed the first set by breaking Paul at 6-5 and saved all three break points he faced in the match. In the second set, Shapovalov broke Paul at 4-3 and then served for the win.

Both finals promise exciting tennis as Alcaraz, de Minaur, Ruud, and Shapovalov aim for ATP titles.
