The Philadelphia Union have signed 17-year-old homegrown defender Neil Pierre to a four-year deal. The young center back has played with Union II and represented the U.S. at the youth level.
The Philadelphia Union just signed 17-year-old homegrown defender Neil Pierre to a four-year contract. The deal also includes an option for 2029.
Pierre, who is from Lebanon, Pa., has been making a name for himself with Union II in the MLS NEXT Pro league for the past two seasons.

“Following a standout season with Union II, we are happy to be able to reward Neil with a first team contract,” said sporting director Ernst Tanner. “His combination of size, speed, and defensive strength makes him a great asset to our backline. As a young, dynamic center back with immense potential, we look forward to continuing and supporting his development.”
Pierre has also played internationally, representing the U.S. from the U15 to U19 levels. With his talent and potential, the Union are excited to see how he grows with the team.
