The Seattle Seahawks’ search for a new offensive coordinator intensifies with second interviews for Klint Kubiak and Grant Udinski, while Byron Leftwich and others join the candidate pool.
The Seattle Seahawks are methodically conducting their search for a new offensive coordinator after parting ways with Ryan Grubb at the end of their season.
As the process unfolds, the team has interviewed a diverse pool of candidates, with some advancing to the next round.
New Candidates Enter the Mix
According to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich has joined the list of interviewees.
Leftwich, a former NFL quarterback with a decade-long playing career, transitioned into coaching in 2016 as an intern with the Arizona Cardinals.
His coaching resume includes a stint as Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator from 2019-2022, highlighted by a Super Bowl victory.
Another emerging candidate is Grant Udinski, assistant offensive coordinator and assistant quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
As reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Udinski has advanced to the second round of interviews.
At just 28 years old, Udinski started his NFL coaching journey in 2020 with the Carolina Panthers before joining the Vikings in 2022 under Kevin O’Connell’s staff.

Frontrunners for the Role
Klint Kubiak, offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, has also earned a second in-person interview with the Seahawks, as confirmed by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Kubiak, who has extensive coaching experience, including a stint as OC for the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, remains a strong contender alongside Udinski.
Hank Fraley (Detroit Lions offensive line coach) and Thomas Brown (Chicago Bears interim head coach) were part of the initial interview round, but no reports suggest they’ve progressed further.
What’s Next?
With second interviews underway, Kubiak and Udinski appear to be leading the race for Seattle’s offensive coordinator position.
However, the addition of seasoned candidates like Leftwich indicates the Seahawks are exploring all options before making a final decision.
This deliberate approach underscores the importance of finding the right leader to guide the Seahawks’ offense into the next season.
